Learning Never Felt So Good: Take Class Payments via Square

Heya folks, big news: you can now take class payments via our Square integration from the Setmore mobile app and web app. If you primarily book via tablet or smartphone, this means you reap the full benefits of card swipe-or-dip technology while taking customer payments in person, for both appointments and class sessions! 


This expansion builds on our initial January launch of the Square integration for web and mobile Setmore apps. If you’ve got the Square integration activated, then all of your classes are now payment-ready from the Setmore app on your phone and your preferred browser.


Here’s how it works – mobile view

Start on your calendar or agenda view. Tap any class session to bring up the details menu and attendance list.

Next, tap on the cash icon next to an attendee name.

If a payment was already logged, you’ll see a payment history instead. Here you can:

  • Add more payments by tapping + New Payment
  • Tap a previous payment to see its details or start a refund.

If the customer hasn’t paid yet, you’ll see the Payment screen. Here you can add items or discounts. Tap Next in the top right to continue.

Setmore will open the Square payment screen. Here you can swipe or dip the customers’ card, or tender a cash payment. 

On completion, you’ll be directed back to the Class Session screen in Setmore.


Taking payments for classes in the web app

Start by clicking on an existing class session in your calendar, then click Edit.

Click on the cash icon next to an attendee’s name to view their payment status.

If a payment was already logged, you’ll see a payment history instead. Here you can:

  • Add more payments by clicking + New Payment. 
  • Click a previous payment to see its details or start a refund.

If the customer hasn’t paid yet, you’ll see the Payment screen. Here you can add items or discounts. Click either Cash or Add Card to continue.

Setmore will open the Square payment window. Here you can swipe or dip the customers’ card, or tender a cash payment. On completion, you’ll be directed back to the Class Session screen in Setmore.
