Floods in Chennai, Thousands in Need

Chennai, India is home to population of 4.6 million people. Since November, the city has been pummeled by non-stop rainfall, including a staggering 16 inches in just two days at the beginning of December 2015. Streets are flooded in neck-deep waters, entire homes are submerged, and in several areas people are struggling to get food and clean drinking water.

As a global company, we have staff in the US, Romania, and India, including the hardest-hit areas of Chennai. Several of our friends and family there have lost everything—their homes, their vehicles, their irreplaceable photos and heirlooms. Nevertheless these team members have continued to come into work every single day, and our average response time has barely increased from two minutes to three minutes. It would be an understatement to say we are proud of these team members.

We’ve also included links to several relief organizations where you can easily donate money that goes directly to food, blankets, shelter, and more.   • SetMore is fantastic and I am saddened to learn about the tragedy facing the people behind it. It is easy to loose sight of the human element of an app, but this is a terrible reminder. It is also a reminder of compassion and how business is a force for good- the human element is behind it all. At the end of the day, it is all about the people and their invaluable lives. A deep prayer for you and all loved ones to be safe through this tragedy.

  • I am so thankful for the Setmore app. It’s not only easy to use, but it’s been a total game changer for my small barbershop. The general consensus from my clientele has been extremely positive.
